How it works

How your stories become an album.

Songs start with just a conversation with our automated interviewer. An easy interview, and the memories come back as music.

  1. Family member sharing a story in an interview

    Step 1

    Get interviewed about your stories.

One relaxed, phone-call-style interview with our automated interviewer. You choose the stories to tell, or let it ask the right questions to draw them out.

  2. Album artwork for a family song

    Step 2

Make each song sound just right.

Each recording turns into an original track. Tweak the genre, vocal style, or lyrics, or remix a song until it feels just right.

  3. Family album shared on a phone

    Step 3

Make it with family. Enjoy together.

Invite family to add their own stories and songs. When the album feels ready, share it with anyone. No app to install, just a link.

My story

Why I built Supper Radio.

I left home in rural Minnesota about ten years ago, and work has kept me away ever since. Around the US, over in Europe, sometimes six time zones from the people that mean the most to me. My family is what keeps me grounded, and being that far away meant missing a lot. And when FaceTime wasn't gonna happen, I'd just put on farming YouTube. Millennial Farmer, Larson Farms, that kind of thing. Weird thing to admit, but it honestly felt like home.

Then on one visit back, sitting around the lunch table, my grandparents and I turned one of their old stories into a song just for fun. We loved it! So we made another one, and another one.

That's all Supper Radio is. You take your family's stories, turn them into songs, and pretty soon you've got a family album. I've been gone a long time now, but when I put those songs on, I hear the stories from supper with my grandparents, the lessons from the farm, and the people who made me who I am.
